Made the crosshair for the Glock and Famas scale correctly upon firing in burst mode
Removed  ability to jump to inaccessible locations using grenades  (flashboosting).  Added sv_enableboost (defaulted to 0) for those who  prefer to allow this behavior
Fixed an issue with involving  incorrect armor protection vs. grenade damage.  Added  sv_legacy_grenade_damage (defaulted to 0) to allow servers to revert to  the original behavior
Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the freezecam sound to be heard when spectating a player who dies
Fixed an issue that could cause KeyHintText to generate junk characters
Prevented ragdoll spasm that could occur when using the jointeam command
Addressed a problem with the sniper rifles that prevented unzooming during auto-reload after shooting all the bullets in a clip
Fixed an issue with the AWP and Scout that could cause their zooms to vibrate briefly after a reload
Fixed map cycling so that the cycle now starts from the map selected by the user instead of going back to the first map

Valve hat Counter-Strike: Source mit einem grossen Patch bereichert.
 
Die Engine-Aenderungen betreffen alle Valve-Multiplayertitel mit der Orange-Box Engine. Sprich: Counter-Strike: Source, Day of Defeat: Source und Team Fortress 2. Die gigantischen Patch-Notes koennt ihr euch nun durchlesen!
 
 
 Source Engine Changes (CS:S, DoD:S, TF2)

 The mat_hdr_level, r_rootlod, and r_waterforceexpensive settings are now saved in the user’s config file. 
 Fixed clients being able to connect to servers with spoofed SteamIDs. 
 Fixed a bug where some video configurations could get reset by restarting the engine. 
 Fixed materials compiled into a map not being loaded correctly if theyre in the root materials folder. 
 Fixed a case of uneven performance on multicore machines. 
 Fixed point contents not respecting detail brushes. This fixes a bullet penetration bug in some community maps. 
 Fixed clients being able to spam servers using the ai_set_move_height_epsilon, mission_show, and sv_querycache_stats commands. 
 Audio fixes: o Reduced overlap in the sound timing code. o Fixed a case where audio could skip. o Fixed voice communication getting corrupted while playing on a Mac. 
 sv_pure 2 now protects the game_sounds files in the scripts directory.

 
Counter-Strike: Source Changelog

 Made the bomb the primary target of a +USE command. This fixes a problem with objects placed around the bombsite interrupting defuse attempts.

    <title>CSS - Neue Beta  Patch fuer das Spiel</title>

Die erste Betaphase fuer den grossen Engine-Patch fuer den beliebten  Valve-Teamshooter "Counter-Strike: Source" ist beendet aber nun will man  das Gameplay mit einer zweiten Beta ausbessern!
 

Das  Gameplay kam wohl beim grossen CS:S-Update mit einer Engine-Umstellung  zu kurz. Das hat man sich wohl auch bei Valve gedacht und bringt nun  auch diese Sache wieder in Ordnung. Alle Besitzer einer Counter-Strike:  Source Version fuer den PC koennen daran teilnehmen und finden den Client  ab sofort in ihrer Spieleliste. Unter den vielen Aenderungen in der Beta  befinden sich auch Performance-Tests. Alle Umstellungen koennt ihr im  Changelog der Test-Phase nachlesen:

  Wer die Beta nicht spielt aber umso aktiver im Hauptspiel ist, den freut  es doch sicher, dass Valve kuerzlich auch ein Update fuer das  Hauptprogramm aufgespielt hat. Added new achievement "CLAN WARFARE": Win a match of at least 10 players where the entirety of each team is composed of a single clan.

Changed default values of the following  server variables to reflect the increase of the default tick rate from  33 to 66:

Marked  ‘developer’ cvar as cheat.
Corrected kill/death reporting  in gun games.  Deaths were not being properly counted in games using  instant respawn.

An  update on the UpdateThe reason for the recent update was to move  Counter-Strike Source (CSS) from the older HL2 version of the Source  engine to the most recent version. This brings the CSS codebase in-line  with our other games. This resolves long standing issues associated with  the older engine and allows us to benefit from features and bug fixes  in other source games as they come online, such as improved graphic  effects and more accurate hit registration.During this process  we created some unintended side effects, these are bugs. We are actively  investigating all reports.A good example of this is bullet  penetration changing on Linux Servers only; not Windows Servers. This  was a subtle bug to track down and understand.  It has been fixed. Rest  assured we will continue to fix old and new CSS bugs. We want to retain  the CSS gameplay experience that you know and love. Neben der Mac-Kompatibilitaet, die mit Steamplay auch PC-Benutzern das  Spielen auf einem Mac mit ihrem Account ermoeglicht, gibt es auch fuer die  Community neuen Anreiz. 144 Errungenschaften wurden mit diesem Update  auf dem Weg gegeben und ein weiteres Statistiken-System ermoeglicht es  euch, die Faehigkeiten eurer Freunde zu beobachten!
 
Da dieses Update leider einige Bugs hatte, erschien gestern ein zusaetzliches Update was einige Bugs beseitigen soll!

Valve arbeitet weiter fleissig an der CSS Beta, aber auch TF2 kommt dabei nicht zu kurz. Neben einigen technischen Aenderungen wie zum Beispiel das hinzufuegen der Kill-Icons fuer die neuen Waffen aus dem letztem Update, gab es auch wieder Aenderungen an zwei TF2-Maps. Nachdem Plr_pipeline und Cp_gorge vor kurzem ueberarbeitet wurde, ist diesmal Tc_Hydo und Koth_Nucleus dran. Auf Koth_nucleus wurde ein Fehler behoben, bei dem man durch eine Spawntuer durchschiessen konnte. Dies war ein sehr nerviger Fehler, der nun zum Glueck behoben wurde. Auf Tc_Hydro wurde ein spezielles Respawn Timing eingefuehrt. Wenn das Team einen Kontrollpoint erobert, bekommen alle toten Spieler einen Zeitbonus beim respawnen. Ausserdem wurde eine automatische Berechnung der Respawnzeit aus der Map entfernt.

Valve stellt in Zusammenarbeit mit den Hidden Path Studios eine Beta zur Verfuegung, die den etwas betagten ESports-Titel um viele Erneuerungen bereichert! Zum Beispiel: Dominationen und Rache koennen wie in Team Fortress 2 und Day of Defeat: Source nun erreicht werden. Aber nur fuer eine kurze Zeit, denn es gibt nur eine begrenzte Anzahl von Teilnehmern!

Gestern wurde wieder ein kleines Update fuer Team Fortress 2 veroeffentlicht. Diesmal gibt es neben ein paar kleinen Bugfixes auch eine Neuerung bei einer der Community-Waffen: dem Homewrecker. Dieser kann nun sogar feindliche Zapper auf Gebaeuden der eigenen Engis zerstoeren. Hier der komplette Changelog:

It now damages enemy sappers on friendly buildings

Unter anderem wurde auch ein Bug behoben, der es moeglich machte, feindliche Spies auch bei voller Tarnung zu erkennen. Zudem werden nun die Zeitangaben der Spieler-Medaillen in GMT - also der Welt-Standardzeit angegeben. Fuer Deutschland muss man in der Sommerzeit zwei Stunden auf diese draufrechnen. Das Update wird wie immer automatisch ueber Steam runtergeladen und installiert.    </description>

Nachdem Valve heute die schon bereits bekannte "Steam Client Beta" vorgestellt hat,
ist nun auch Team Fortress 2 dran.
Das Update behebt einen Fehler, fuehrt neue Items ein und hat noch einige weitere, kleine Aenderungen.

    <title>TF2 Update: Neue Items</title>

TEAM FORTRESS 2:  NEUE ITEMS
 
 
Letzte Nacht wurde, mal wieder ein TF2 Update eingespielt welches nicht wie gewohnt Bugfixes oder Aenderungen am Gameplay mit sich bringt sondern nur eins: Content. 

Im Januar forderte Valve die Spielerschaft auf ihnen ihre Models fuer TF2 zu schicken, so dass jene spaeter ins Spiel implementiert werden koennen. Nun wurde die erste Ladung an Kopfbedeckungen veroeffentlicht, jede Klasse bekommt damit einen neuen Hut.

Viel spannender aus unserer Sicht, oder aus der Sicht des auf Updates wartenden, nach Neuigkeiten gierenden TF2 Spielers ist die Frage:

Neben den neun Hueten fanden auch drei weitere Items ihren Weg ins Spiel. Zum einen zwei Meelee-Waffen, welche (obwohl es nur rein kosmetische Models sein sollten) komplett neue Waffen darstellen,
 
Die erste Waffe, The Pain Train, laesst den Traeger doppelt so schnell einen Punkt einnehmen, jener ist damit aber anfaelliger gegenueber Projektilen. Waffe Nummer Zwei, betitelt The Homewrecker, hat laut Beschreibung 100% Schaden gegen Gebaeude, allerdings nur 85% gegen anderen Mitspieler. Wie genau sich das auswirkt, ist zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt noch nicht bekannt. The Pain Train soll ersten Infos nach fuer Soldier und Demoman verfuegbar sein, The Homewrecker nur fuer den Pyro.  Die letzte "Waffe", The Dalokohs Bar, ist ein Schokoriegel fuer unseren russischen Freund. Anders als das Sandvich heilt es den Heavy nicht, sondern stattet ihn fuer 30 Sekunden mit mehr maximalem Health aus, sodass er statt 300 nun 350 HP hat. Ob sich das auf den Overheal des Medics auswirkt, sodass der Heavy 500 HP haben wuerde, ist noch nicht bestaetigt.

Neuer Nvidia-Treiber mit SLI-Profil
 Interessant fuer alle Besitzer zweier oder mehr Nvidia-Karten in einem System ist besonders der heutige Release neuer Beta-Treiber. Diese steigern nicht nur die Performance in den Spielen Left 4 Dead, Crysis und H.A.W.K.S., sondern fuegen auch ein SLI-Profil fuer Bad Company 2 hinzu. Das heisst also, dass jetzt alle im System vorhandenen Grafikkarten angesprochen werden koennen und so ein SLI-System bei Bad Company 2 endlich Sinn macht. Voellig ueberraschend hat Valve heute Nacht eine Generalueberholung der Online-Plattform Steam vorgestellt. Vorerst als freiwillige Beta verfuegbar bringt das Update ein neues Design, einen ueberarbeiteten Store und zahlreiche neue Features fuer den Client.
"Hunderte Veraenderungen wurden am Steam-Client basierend auf dem Feedback der Nutzer, der Performance und der Funktionalitaet vorgenommen", so Steam Director John Cook. Mit den Anpassungen sei man fuer ein weiteres Jahr mit grossem Wachstum geruestet. Das komplette Changelog wuerde hier den Rahmen sprengen.
Major features: * Complete overhaul of Steam client UI design to improve discoverability of features and to better expose all the information related to games in your library * Complete overhaul of in-game overlay UI design to create a richer in-game experience exposing context sensitive information related to the game you are currently playing * New game details view, presenting a detailed view of all the information for a single game in your library * New grid view, presenting a graphical view of your game library * New news page in the store/client/overlay which aggregates from Valve related news sites, official community groups, and third-party gaming news feeds * New downloads view in the client, making it easier to track your progress downloading new games or game updates * New Steam store design, including more integrated community features, improved recommendations, and improved video and screenshots viewing (and much more!) Die immer beliebter werdenden Achievements werden jetzt direkt in eurer Spiele-Liste angezeigt. Solltet ihr mittlerweile so viele Spiele besitzen, dass ihr gar keinen Ueberblick mehr habt, so duerft ihr eure eigenen Filter-Listen anlegen um diese besser zu sortieren. Auch optisch macht die neue Ansicht mehr her. Eine neue Download-Uebersicht informiert euch einfacher ueber eure momentanen oder kuerzlich abgeschlossenen Downloads.An den Listen fuer Videos und Tools (Dedicated Server, SDK Tools etc) hat sich nicht viel geaendert, neu ist die detaillierte Auflistung ueber Downloads und Updatevorgaenge, erreichbar ueber den Menuepunkt Downloads. Neben dem bekannten Community Tab, ist das News Tab hinzugekommen, hier lassen sich, wie der Name schon sagt, aktuelle News ueber und um Steam nachlesen. Ebenfalls wenig getan hat sich an der Friendslist, diese erscheint, abgesehen vom neuen Skin, im alten Gewand.Um die Beta auszuprobieren oeffnet ihr euer Einstellungen-Fenster und nehmt im Bereich Beta-Teilnahme an der "UI Update" Beta teil. Danach Steam neu starten und es erscheint im neuen Glanz.
 
 



Das bei solch einer Beta Fehler auftreten, ist bekannt. So sehen manche SteamUser keine Schrift im Menue und muessen die datei steam.styles mit den editor oeffnen und folgendes aendern: basefontbold="Arial Bold" in basefontbold="Arial"

Jeder kann an der Beta teilnehmen, aktivieren kann man sie im Steam-Optionenmenue. Da es sich aber, wie der Name schon sagt, um keine finale Version handelt, sollte man mit Fehlern und Bugs rechnen. Im offiziellen Steam-Forum wird auch von Crashes bereits kurz nach dem Start von Steam berichtet. Wer von diesem Problem betroffen ist und deshalb wieder aussteigen moechte, muss den Ordner HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareValveSteamBeta in der Windows-Registry aufrufen und alle Werte darin loeschen.
